Sylvia grew up in Southern California and began her love of painting at an early age.  After over 20 years of painting in oils, she changed to watercolors because she admired their glow and transparency.  Many of paintings feature birds, wildlife and local landscapes.  "I try to include something unexpected or unusual into each painting to draw the viewer into my art.  My love of the outdoors provides a never ending source of ideas for new work".

Her water color paintings have appeared in several exhibitions throughout California and have won awards from County and local art associations.
Her paintings are currently shown at the The Back Room Gallery and several local businesses in Chester, CA and Palm Desert, CA.  She is an annual participant in the Feather River Land Trust Plein Air Paint Out fundraiser for preserving historic ranch lands and the Lake Almanor Art Tour.  Sylvia is a member of the Feather River Fine Arts Association, Back Room Gallery Co-op, Coachella Valley Water Color Society and the Desert Field Mice Plein Aire Group.

Sylvia and her husband divide their time between two beautiful areas - Lake Almanor and Palm Springs, CA -- both which provide inspirations for her work.   More of Sylvia's art work and shows can be found at her blog site.
